The story behind it

The 150 year old heritage, Bhojan Griha was started to give an example to the government that old buildings need to be respected. The building was in a very dilapidated state and going to be demolished, so in 1998 Bharat Basnet took over the building previously resided by the Royal Priest of The King of Nepal and completely renovated it. The goal was to take locals and use traditional methods and materials to construct buildings to experience the feeling of the past whilst enjoying the music and food in Nepal. “What we eat is what we are” – we work with Chi philosophy to discourage chemical/commercial farming practices. We are constantly working with local producers to encourage traditional/organic way of farming.
